Grwalker 08:50, 24 October 2006 (UTC)An Australian working holiday is a one in a life time experience for young people between the ages of 18-30, and is only available to citizens with which Australia has a working holiday maker agreement.

There are four basic criteria that must be fulfilled by before DIMA (Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs) will grant a Working Holiday Visa.

Each applicant must:

  • Be aged between 18 and 30 years (inclusive) of age without dependent children;
  • Be eligible passport holders with at least 1 year until renewal on their passport;
  • Be going to Australia on holidays; and
  • Be able to show sufficient funds for a return or onward fare and an adequate amount of funds for the first part of their stay.

The following countries have working holiday maker agreements with Australia:

Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR*, Italy, Japan, Malta, Norway, Republic of Cyprus, Republic of Ireland, Republic of Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, The Netherlands, United Kingdom.
