Woolstaston is a village in Shropshire, England. The village and the surrounding area was used extensively in the filming of the 1998 Academy-Award-winning film Saving Private Ryan. The reason for its use was that the film's writer, Robert Rodat, lived in the village as a child before moving to the United States.
