From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Wonder Book and Video, Inc. is an independent used book and video rental retail bookseller based in Frederick, Maryland. It was founded in September 1980 by Charles E. Roberts, who continues to operate as owner and president. Wonder Book and Video's store locations consist of one in Frederick, Maryland on West Patrick Street (Route 40), and two in Hagerstown, Maryland which altogether carry over one million books. The Hagerstown store on Massey Blvd entire book inventory is now only $1 while the new Hagerstown location on the Dual Highway (Route 40) is open. Separate from in-store inventories, over one million books are also located in the warehouse in Frederick and are searchable via their website. Books are also sold by-the-foot to interior decorators, hotels, law firms, and retail chains across the United States. All three store locations are open 10 AM to 10 PM every day during the year except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Both locations accept books for sale from the general public on the aforementioned days between the hours of 10 AM and 4 PM. In 2002, USAToday named Wonder Book and Video “one of 10 great places to buy used books”.[1] The location in Frederick in Prospect Plaza was closed on August 29, 2006.
