Women In Entertainment Empowerment Network

Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network (WEEN) is an organization that aims to promote a balanced, positive portrayal of women in entertainment and society. WEEN is led by members of the film, music, and entertainment industries, including Kimora Lee Simmons, Joss Stone, Sylvia Rhone, Universal/Motown Records President, and Executive Director Valeisha Butterfield.

WEEN launched at the Bo Concept Store in SoHo (in New York City) on September 19, 2007. The "Pink Carpet" event included guests such as Russell Simmons, Dr. Benjamin Chavis, DJ Coco Chanel, and recording artist Mya. The event also featured music by DJ Kiss and hip-hop pianist Chloe Loh.

More than 80 influential women in the entertainment industry, including corporate executives, recording artists and educators, helped develop WEEN's mission statement, program and strategy.
