Category:Women writers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This category exists in response to the widely-studied field of women writers and women's writing. The overwhelming majority of English-language universities offer courses in women's writing; it is generally recognized as a field of interest within literary studies; and it is recognized as a sub-category by the Library of Congress and the Modern Language Association. The field is studied in recognition of the widely-accepted contention that the history of women writers has been significantly different from the history of male writers.
