Talk:Wolfram Research
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"that's not horrible" -- Stephen Wolfram, on seeing this page for the first time. (April, 2005)
This page needs to be renamed Wolfram Research, Inc. (the way, I gather from the logs, that it used to be until maybe December of 05). It's my understanding that the "Wolfram Group" does not exist as such, but the companies, all run by Stephen Wolfram, do. Someone needs to track down the actual corporate structure here. But there is no "Wolfram Group" as a legal entity. Pleasantville 17:01, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Theodore Gray
Why does Theodore Gray redirect here? --4.242.87.175 02:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Because he was a founder of the company yet isn't sufficiently notable to have an article devoted just to him. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 03:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Because User:Slim Virgin said so. It is a silly redirect. --Pleasantville 11:19, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Links,, references, advertising?
The page only has 3 references, and one of those is self published. 3 out of 5 external links lead to the company's own website, and I count at least 3 links in the text to the wolfram website. The presence of this page seems to be part of a carefully crafted promotional exercise. DMcMPO11AAUK/Talk/Contribs 08:50, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Wolframscreenshot.jpg
Image:Wolframscreenshot.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
