[edit] History
In June 2003, WPPG began playing a mix of music like nothing else on radio in Wilmington, North Carolina--Woody Guthrie might be followed by R.L. Burnside, John Prine and Phish, for example. It was not a stunt. It was Triple-A. The Penguin, also heard on 106.7 FM starting in August, was "a different kind of bird" that played "the music you've been waiting for." Program director Mark Keefe came from WNCW.[1]
Later, this station played oldies.
