Welcome to the project, I've moved your comment to the Wikiproject talk page and answered it there. There are a few exceptions but for the most part, discussions and sigs are reserved for the talk/discussion pages, certainly in the main article name space that is the case - it's a bit grayer in the wikipedia: namespace.

Under the my preferences tab that you see when you're logged in you can enable the email facility so that the E-mail this user link will work. This avoids having your email address on display to the public but allows others to contact you.
