Witango
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Witango is a web application development environment, similar in some aspects to the Macromedia ColdFusion development platform. The product was formerly known just as Tango, and was owned by Pervasive Software and before them, Everyware Corporation. The product suite acquired by With Enterprise in 2001 (which renamed itself Witango Technologies after the acquisition).
Witango consists of two main components:
1. A development environment with shortcuts for generating queries, COM and Bean integration, and a tag library reducing the amount of plumbing required. The output files are in XML format and can be encrypted.
2. An application server that interprets the XML files created by the development environment, loading the structure into memory for fast execution. The application server can be set up to run multiple instances per server.
