The pier was gradually reduced in length by consecutive impacts with local seacraft, colliding with the Saffron in 1880...

Are we suggesting here that the pier was partially to blame for its 'collision' with the Safron? --Sam Francis

Yes, I found that sentence weird too. I'm not sure if it's collidng or with that's the problem. Anyway, that paragraph is very entertaining. --Menchi 19:20, 7 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hey,

I'm fairly new to Wiki but I decided this page was in need for a bit of attention. I've done some fairly major editing and restructuring but some of the information is either inaccurate or incomplete.

Although I live in Withernsea I actually don't know all that much about its history (particularly concerning the railway and WW2) so if any of you guys do then feel free to fill in the gaps.
