Wise River, Montana

Wise River is a small town in southwest Montana, as well as, a tributary of the Big Hole River.

Located 40 miles southwest of Butte and in northern Beaverhead County, the town is comprised of a country school, church, post office, two bar/cafes and a general store. Though population is less than 50 living in the town, probably 100+ live within a mile of town. The town is a popular tourist area in summer with fly-fishing and camping being the most poupular activities. In winter, snowmobiling is a popular activity in the area.
