From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

[edit] Summary

This was the logo for WIS TV in Columbia, SC during the early 1990s. This was a major change from earlier identities where the number 10 was used. Since the station was now on cable, it saw a need to reach out by taking away the original channel number. The WIS News brand was quite strong as it was the dominant news leader in the Midlands of South Carolina.

[edit] Licensing

[edit] Fair use in WIS

Though this image is subject to copyright, its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. It is a former logo for WIS, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, South Carolina
  2. It is of much lower resolution than the original (copies made from it will be of very inferior quality).
  3. The photo is only being used for informational purposes.
  4. Its inclusion in the article adds significantly to the article because television station logos are an important part of a station's branding.
