Talk:Wipro Technologies

So I went back and forth on whether to call this "Stub" or "advertisement" and really it is sort of both. On one hand it could use a lot more filling out and on the other hand the context and appropriateness of some of the existing article could use some rework. Meaning it isn't really all that Wipro has PCMI certification (Especially since its not explained why that is significant) but that reads like the kind of thing I'd expect on an "about us" page on wipro.com. On the other hand, the economic importance of modern Wipro to India and its effects on the economy are barely covered. The corporate culture at Wipro and how Wipro compares to Infosys and similar firms isn't covered. I'd also expect to see both negative and positive points in the article (similar to IBM article). Not the only corporate topic I'd like to see expanded and balanced...I've worked on some myself and hope to get around to this one but its something I was hoping to read about in Wikipedia not write about (knowing little about it firsthand) Reboot 22:06, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

This reads like it was written by Wipro's PR department, and as such is inappropriate for Wikipedia. [bthylafh] 29 Mar 2006 19:27 CST6CDT

[edit] Controversial
Their should be a section about this company on its controversial ability.
Its a company that has garnered much business. However the quality of that business across the industry is considered EXTREMLY sub-standard.
So a pro/con section - cheap labour vs poor quality labour
[edit] Labor
That is true, they just use good qualified engineers, push them into a corner with their huge managment jungle and when things go right the credit goes to the managers, when things go wrong the engineers are screwed. --from someone who was among the first people in the much hyped Karnataka Bank project.
[edit] Not important enough
They are minor players. I do not think it justifies to be part of an encyclopedia.
70k+ people world wide? Is that a minor player? 217.7.209.108 15:17, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
not at all
[edit] Wipro Technologies & Wipro Consumer Care
Both these companies are different. However there is no reference nor a separate page for the latter. Webgeek
