Winter-hardy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Winter-hardy plants are those which are able to grow during the winter, or at least remain healthy and dormant. Examples include not only the obvious evergreens, but also many cultivated plants, including some cabbage and broccoli, and all kinds of carrot. Many domestic plants are assigned a hardiness zone, specifying which climates they can survive in.

Winter gardens are dependent upon the cultivation of winter-hardy plants.
