The Windsor Police Pipe Band is a non-profit organisation based in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Founded in 1967, the band has grown substantially within the past decade. With a current roster of over one hundred players, the Windsor Police Pipe Band is one of the largest piping and drumming organisations in Canada and the world.
Players are divided, based on playing ability, into three separate bands in Grades 1, 3 and 4. (Grade 1 is the highest and Grade 4 the lowest). Each band performs at a high standard and is consistently a contender for top prizes in their respective grades. In 2006, the Grade 3 and 5 bands won first place in the North American Championships while the Grade 1 band took second.
The bands can be seen performing at numerous events and contests throughout the year in Canada and abroad. They also host an annual fall concert, "Piping Under the Stars". As a community service, piping and drumming lessons are offered weekly.
