[edit] Frustration

I am thoroughly convinced that Wikipedia is a highly susceptible tool for spreading falsehoods by a group(s) of people who can collude among themselves and then twist, distort and protect their articles from well-meaning Users. At the same time, they can prevent others from editing their contributions in a clever and premediated fashion. I do not regret that I lost to a bunch of fanatics and chauvanists. I only hope that Wikipedia owners, administrators and others take notice of my frustration and amend the guidelines to make Wiki more credible and authentic.Kumarrao 15:00, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Schulich School of Business Logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Schulich School of Business Logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AWB

I saw your comment on the checkpage, and I am curious what exact editing skills do you want to have. I know Wikipedia and its workings very well. --Evilclown93(talk) 14:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

My comment was looking for some signs that you are familiar with the policies of wikipedia regarding editing articles. --WinHunter (talk) 13:50, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Plz. refer to your protection of Telugu script

I could recently manage to broker a truce, if you will, in the Telugu language page. If you could permit me, I would do similarly on the Telugu script page, which has been plagued by similar problems (incl. edit wars). Hoping to hear from you soon, AltruismTo talk 12:13, 2 July 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I am going to unprotect the page. Though be warned that I am going to protect the page again if I see sign(s) of edit-warring again. --WinHunter (talk) 12:15, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for unprotecting. I've carried out some corrections by removing the parts in conflict, on the lines of Telugu language. --AltruismTo talk 05:24, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
Though there have been a few edits/reverts, consensus seems to be building with good signs of an agreement. In case of any edit wars I will inform you myself. Even though, you may want to watch Telugu script. Thanks --AltruismTo talk 09:16, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry! Telugu script in dire need of protection.

I am sorry. I'm terribly pained at the negative advantage some users have taken to my decency. I grossly misread and misunderstood the situation. I probably over-estimated the "good faith" some editors had. The problem is as follows:

Some editors, seemingly speakers of a neighbouring language, have decided not to let the article be unprotected, for whatever vested reasons they may be having. They have time and again removed and added undesirable content and sources, despite my having given them considerably leeway with all decency, in good faith.
This problem should be taken up at a bigger forum, to make the necessary changes in WP policy, to see to it that such users, especially those who are a nuisance, gang up, are permanently dealt with. Telugu script is just one among the umpteen articles which have been subject to mischief or possibly vandalism. Please guide me to make my case. Thanking You, AltruismTo talk 05:03, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Please protect it at the earliest. In order to stave of any further edits, I've inadvertently violated WP:3RR. Plz. refer to the complaint against me. Thanking You, AltruismTo talk 09:09, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

1) Telugu-Kannada or 2) Kannada-Telugu or 3) Old Kannada are script-related terms, which are most probably synonymous in nature. Each reference source cites two or any one of the terms. Since, the article is to do with Telugu script, Telugu users (probable) have an inclination to use 1, 2 and 3; or either of them. The problem starts when some editors speaking a neighbouring language (probable) gang up and force only 3 upon others. The problem, in itself, is silly and petty and wastes valuable time which could be used for other things. What is serious, however is that users gang up or possibly indulge in sock-puppetry as reported by me. Plz. also see the page for reports, for checking User:Sarvagnya. Thanking You, AltruismTo talk 09:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Plz. also note that I have inadvertently violated WP:3RR and have been reported as well. In the light of all this, I again request you to immediately protect the article. Thanking You, AltruismTo talk 09:58, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
