[edit] Population

  • Winchelsea claims to be the smallest town in Britain to have its own mayor - interesting - so what is the size of the local population then? 80.42.43.192 13:49, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Talking to locals the answer seems to be somewhere between four and five hundred, but as so many houses are second or holiday homes the actual permanent residential occupation appears to be approx 250. NewInn 09:52, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

The Local Action Plan calculated the number of residents precisely in 2006. There are 278 houses and 585 adults, of which about 21% are second home-owners. The number of voters in the May 2007 local government election was 411. [Winchelsea Community Office] —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.206.239.72 (talk) 16:16, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
