Willie Mitchell (baseball)

William Mitchell (December 1, 1889 - November 23, 1973) born in Pleasant Grove, Mississippi was a Pitcher for the Cleveland Naps/Cleveland Indians (1909-16) and Detroit Tigers (1916-19).

In 11 years he had an 84-92 Win-Loss record, 276 Games Pitched (190 Started), 93 Complete Games, 16 Shutouts, 64 Games Finished, 4 Saves, 1,632 Innings Pitched, 1,464 Hits Allowed, 725 Runs Allowed, 522 Earned Runs Allowed, 14 Home Runs Allowed, 605 Walks Allowed, 921 Strikeouts, 75 Hit Batsmen, 48 Wild Pitches, 6,796 Batters Faced, 6 Balks, a 2.88 ERA and a 1.268 WHIP.

He died in Sardis, Mississippi at the age of 83.
