William Stewart Boyd

William S. Boyd is the Circuit Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County Domestic Relations Division, Chicago, Illinois. He is most well known for his historic decision to split a mega-rich couple's assets 50-50 in their divorce settlement.[1]

Boyd is a graduate of University of Illinois and received his law degree from NIU College of Law in 1980. From 1983 to 1986, he was partner in the firm Boyd & Boyd, Ltd. in Chicago. He was appointed as judge in [[1988]. He is best known for his June 4, 2007 $184 million divorce judgment in energy magnate Michael Polsky and his wife Maya Polsky's divorce settlement.
