William Simons is a Welsh actor, born in Swansea on 17 November 1940.

He is best known for his role as Yorkshireman PC Alf Ventress in Heartbeat, a part he has played for over a decade.

Other roles included parts in Coronation Street, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Cribb, Minder, Dempsey and Makepeace, and the 1978 Doctor Who story The Sunmakers.
