William Marlowe (25 July 1932-2004) was a British actor. His most famous role was probably that of Chief Supt Thomas in The Chief (1990). Other roles include Sir Guy of Gisbourne in The Legend of Robin Hood (1975), A Family at War (1970-72), DCI Bill Russell in The Gentle Touch (1980-84), and Harry Mailer in the Doctor Who serial The Mind of Evil (1971). He reappeared in Doctor Who 4 years later as Lester in Revenge of the Cybermen (1975). His guest star roles include Barlow at Large, Breakaway, Callan and Catch Hand.
Marlowe was originally married to actress Fernanda Marlowe, who played Corporal Bell in two ‘’Doctor Who’’ serials (her husband’s former appearance and The Claws of Axos). He later married Kismet Delgado, widow of Roger Delgado, who played The Master in the show from 1971-3 (one appearance being in Mr. Marlowe's former story). The US IMDb claims that William Marlowe was married to Catherine Schell from 1968-1977 and Ysanne Churchman making reports about his wives very conflicting!
