William Nicholas Kring, was born on March 29, 1989 in Worcester, Massachusetts, U.S., and has been an American tennis player since 1999. He's best known for his big serve and large presence on the court at six feet four inches. At just 6 years old, Kring started playing tennis with Dave Sobel, an ex-junior coach of Andre Agassi. Kring always was a big fan of and loved to watch Taylor Dent and Pete Sampras. He currently lives in Florida. William Kring is coached by Mark Dalzell of the Bollettieri Tennis Academy. This last year, he also trained with Taylor Dent to help develop Kring's serve-volley game. When Kring was younger, he was coached by his father, Bill Kring Sr.

As of 2007, Kring had committed to play at Colgate University, a Division I school that is a member of the Patriot League. However after just a few short weeks, Bill decided to leave Colgate and attend Boston University. His season will start with the Terriers on February 1st.

Kring has played in a number of professional tournaments including the Nasdaq-100 Open and the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships. He is 6'4" and weighs 225 lbs, and is right-handed. He plays a One-Handed backhand.

Kring plays with Wilson and sports Adidas tennis gear. He trains and lives at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy.
