William F. Poe was born July 22, 1931. He served as Mayor of the City of Tampa, Florida from 1974 - 1979. Before becoming Mayor he was previously on the City Council, and he is currently the Chairman of the Florida-based property and casualty insurance company. It should also be noted that he served in the Air Force, and he received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Florida.[1]
