William Dudingston

Admiral William Dudingston (1740 – 27 October 1817) was the commanding officer of the British HMS Gaspée. He was shot June 10, 1772, while resisting the taking of his ship by Sons of Liberty. The Gaspée Affair was an important event during the leadup to the American Revolution.
