Wilfred D. Turner

Wilfred D. Turner was Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina from 1901 to 1905. He was born in Turnersburg, North Carolina (near Statesville). While a student at Duke University, Turner was a member of the Chi Phi fraternity.
A Democrat, Turner was elected to the North Carolina Senate in 1886, 1888 and 1890 from Iredell County. He was also a delegate to the 1896 Democratic National Convention.
