Wildcat! is a bulletin board system (BBS) software package developed in 1986 by Mustang Software to create a dial-up BBS operating under PC-DOS. It was later ported to Microsoft Windows. By the release of Version 4 it was the basis for over 50,000 bulletin boards worldwide.[citation needed]
The product was later expanded to integrate Internet access under the name WINServer (Wildcat! Integrated Network Server). Mustang sold Wildcat! to Santronics Software, Inc. on November 19, 1998.[1] Santronics had been an active third-party developer for the Wildcat! product lines since 1991.
