Wild TV is a Canadian English language category 2 digital cable specialty channel, providing outdoor programming in the form of hunting, fishing, and environmental television shows. The channel is owned by Dieter Kohler through Wild TV Inc. and launched in September 2004.
[edit] Distribution
When Wild TV was initially launched in 2004, it began with limited coverage, mainly distributed through a few smaller cable distributors including Access Cable and Westman Communications. Wild TV lacked clout with major cable carriers due to its programming genre and being owned by a one channel operation rather than a large commercial entity operating many channels. However, in recent years Wild TV has begun to expand its carriage across Canada, reaching carriage deals with major cable companies including Cogeco, Bell ExpressVu and Star Choice where Wild TV is carried as a full service and Rogers Cable and Shaw Cable where it is carried as a Video on-demand within each companies own VOD service respectively.
