[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:East_High_School_Salt_Lake_City.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:East_High_School_Salt_Lake_City.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. MECU≈talk 17:08, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I am not a bot. I cannot provide the license information. Only the uploader who understands the nature image source and/or image copyright can provide it. You can ask for help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. MECU≈talk 19:40, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
- I removed the license tag because it is not correct: The image is not from the federal government. High schools (and related educational entities) may receive funding from the federal government, but they are not considered part of the federal government, meaning the license applied was incorrect. The image probably can't be used under fair use, since the school likely exists and replacing the image should be possible. So, we likely need a statement of release from the owner (see WP:COPYREQ) or something else which I don't know because I'm not the uploader/owner. MECU≈talk 13:30, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Earth
- I'm not sure what you're thinking calling a longstanding user (and administrator)'s edit "vandalism", but you really should discuss contested additions like yours on the talk page before trying to start a revert war. JuJube (talk) 10:36, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

- The edit is just forcing religious bias POV on Wikipedia then with bias against certain religons. William Ortiz (talk) 10:46, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Vandal warning
Please refrain from misusing the vandal warning. My edit was clearly not vandalism, per Wikipedia's policy on the subject. I provided a rationale for why I removed the excess sources from Jedi census phenomenon in the edit summary, and I have expanded upon it in the article's talk page. If you disagree with my edit, please voice your concerns there. -Juansmith (talk) 19:31, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- You first falsely called obeying WP:SOURCE as vandalism and then an anti-vandalism bot reverted you. William Ortiz (talk) 19:58, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
- I have added further discussion on the matter to Talk:Jedi census phenomenon. -Juansmith (talk) 11:33, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- I gave up on it a couple weeks ago when I asked people to review it and they didn't like it. William Ortiz (talk) 14:31, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Nonsense of Woll Smoth
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Woll Smoth, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Woll Smoth provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Woll Smoth, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. [edit] Nigeria: bogus astronaut program claims
two valid notable news sources. It should go in the article somewhere William Ortiz (talk) 15:22, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
- Any information on bogus claims of a Nigerian astronaut program might belong into the trivia section of Advance fee fraud but certainly not into an article on Nigeria. --Ankimai (talk) 16:11, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- It has been obvious from the start that your only interest in Nigeria is as promotional work to try to make it look good and you do not care about anything else such as WP:RS. William Ortiz (talk) 02:43, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- The issue with these edits is less that they are unverified as it is that they simply don't belong in the article about Nigeria. For example, when talking about Christianity, you wouldn't go into details about the founding of Mormonism--you would save those details for the article on Mormonism. By focusing on a small, single news event in an article about the whole country, you elevate it to the level of importance associated with the explanations of Nigeria's legal system and economy. This is called undue weight and is a type of NPOV violation.

- So if you want this piece of information on Wikipedia, I would suggest that you work to try and find a more appropriate place for it. Don't accuse editors of POV pushing or vandalism when they remove it--instead, start a discussion about where best to put it in order to come to a consensus.

Hi William,
It has become apparent that you are using User:Pretmaybe in order to bolster your claims on the Nigeria article in violation of Wikipedia's policy on sock puppetry. As such, I have indefinitely blocked that account--any more sock puppetry will result in a block on this one as well. --jonny-mt 16:42, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- You can checkuser it. I doubt they live anywhere near me. William Ortiz (talk) 17:08, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
