It seems that one is permitted to express, via 'User Templates', one's allegiance to, or support for, any and all real or imagined political entities --- except the EU.

How can being pro-EU be adjudged divisive, but being pro-UN is not? Why are Americans permitted to express a regional/political affiliation bordering on jingoism, but Europeans are not permitted to express simple support for the EU?

This is NPOV?
