THE POWAI FESTIVAL 2008 www.powaifestival.org

Venue: Municipal gardens near Ambrosia Towers at Hirandani Gardens, Powai.

Dates: 25th April to 27th April.

Expected audience 80,000 – 100,000 from Powai and surrounding areas.

The three day festival will have a grand mix of entertainment, contests, dance, drama, music, art, culture & food.

Over fifty schools for underprivileged children and physically challenged children will visit the festival in the morning as our special guests and enjoy the hospitality of Powaites with free game rides, snacks and various contests which are dedicated for them.

Health camps with blood donation will also be conducted on the first two days. The fun-fair will start in the evening and along with game stalls, rides and food there will be performances by leading dance troupes, Live music, A fashion show, A beauty contest to crown the Powai Princess, A made for each other contest, Corporate quiz, Raffles, Auctions and many other exciting and entertaining events.

The Powai Festival is organised by MANCH – an NGO from Powai known for organizing major social, sports and environmental events in Powai.

Bringing people together is the heart of our mission and our identity.

We wish to create an annual Community Event that will help to increase the quality of life. We wish to create an opportunity for the underprivileged and physically challenged children to participate in activities and games and to help community development in Powai and its surroundings

MANCH invites you to support the Powai Festival through Corporate and individual sponsorship for the various activities planned. You can also contribute by advertising in the Powai Festival Souvenir which will be printed for distribution.

POWAI FESTIVAL 2008 – ‘Powai Princess’

Applications are invited from all eligible contestants to participate in the Powai Princess 2008 contest. If you have the confidence, the personality, the attitude, the face and figure, we have the right platform to showcase it. The criteria for selection of the contestants is an extremely detailed process, designed by experts and professionals in the industry. Powai Princess 2008 will have the following stages: 1. Call for entries from across the Mumbai North East constituency. 2. Screening of entries. 3. Preliminary elimination round leaving only the top 100 contestants. 4. Final elimination round leaving us with the most beautiful and talented contestants. 5. An all-encompassing training session by experts in the industry to develop well-rounded, talented personalities. 6. Preliminary Rounds : o Miss Hair o Miss Smile o Miss Photogenic o Miss Personality o Miss Congeniality And finally The Grand Pageant on the 27th of April 2008

POWAI MARATHON 2008

Whether running competitively or for fun, there is something to suit every age and ability

Entrants to the Powai Festival Dream Marathon must be 18 years or older on the day of the race. We also welcome registrations from groups wanting to run as a team.

Running in a Dream Marathon is a very rewarding experience, but it is not to be undertaken lightly. You will need to be physically fit to complete the distance. If in doubt consult your doctor.

Do not run if you are feeling unwell.

Please note that the Race Declaration Form given below must be signed and submitted along with the Registration Form.
