Pay As You Go Text Message Price Increase
- As of Aug. 21 AT&T has started to send out SMS to all prepaid users notifing them of the following information.
- “AT&T Free Msg: Text/IM rate will increase on 10/30/07 to $.15 per message sent/received. Save with Messaging pkg, rates as low as $.01/msg. Call 611 for details.”
- This change will not apparently affect you if you have one of the current Message packages, however any sms or such used above and beyond the package you have on & or after Oct. 30, 2007 will be charged at the per message cost of $0.15.
- Also the International sms rate is also changing from the current rate of $0.20 cents per outbound sms to the rate of $0.25 cents per message. And of course the Incoming International Text Messaging will increase to $0.15 cents per message, where as it is considered a normal incoming sms.
Buyers Remorse Info for Pay As You Go & the Pick Your Plan For Cingular PrePaid Services
In order to get the benefit of Cingulars return period [A.K.A:. Buyers Remorse], The phone and everything that natively comes with the phone has to be returned to the same place in which the phone was purchased at. This includes the starter pin [only applicable to the Non-Pick Your Plan]. If there is anything that is missing like the...
- Charger, There will be a restocking fee of $25.00.
- If the STARTER PIN is also missing there is an additional restocking fee of $25.00.
- There also can be other restocking fee['s] charged by that location. [only applicable to Non-Corporate stores]
This info is applicable to Cingular's corporate store locations only, All other locations may and or will have their own return period and conditions for said return and resticking fee['s].

Voicemail Info Update
As of 05.01.07, All calls to voicemail from the wireless phone now use airtime [Charged at the per minute daytime/peak rate as set by your calling plan] when calling from your wireless phone. Cingular sent out a free sms to all users on approximately 04.23.2007 about the change.
What To Do When Your Phone Is Stolen/Missing
For phones that are stolen or missing, you should call customer care at 1-800-331-0500 or 611 from another Cingular wireless phone, customer care will debit the account down to $0.00 for you. Once you get the new phone and simcard, call customer care and have them update the account with at least the new ICCID number from the simcard [A.K.A:. Smartcard] so that the money can be replaced for you and you can use the phone again.
- The balance can stay valid once removed for a limited time.
- Pick your plan users get 90 days to have the balance replaced before the money is lost.
- Pay As You Go users Get 60 days to have the balance replaced before the money is lost.
How To Cancel A Prepaid Account.
- For a cancellation of a prepaid account, all you have to do is...
- For Pay As You Go Plans do any further refills to the account and let the account expire on its own.
- The account will then cancel after a period of 60 days on its own.
- For Pick Your Plans call the payment department and cancel the autopayment option.
- The account will then cancel after 90 days from the expiration date on its own.
- Call 611 or 1-866-499-7888.
- Take the option for payment.
- Select the crdit card payment option.
- Select an amount to pay.
- Confirm the amount to pay.
- When asked for the credit card number, Press "0".
- Do not select any other options.
- Hold the line for the next payment rep.
- Have the rep cancel the auto pay once you verify the info they ask for.
- The account will then cancel after 90 days from the expiration date on its own.
- For Pay As You Go Plans do any further refills to the account and let the account expire on its own.

Why Wont Cingular Move My Balance.
Cingular does not natively do balance transfers for prepaid users, The only time that they will do it is if you are moving from one state to another and go to a Cingular corporate store use this link here [[1]] and enter your zip code] location and have the rep call in once the new account and number is started, or if you are going from one of Cingular systems to another [Example:. Upstate NY and New York City are 2 different market even though same state].
