  • Googling for Wilton "North Yorkshire" yields 94,100 hits. (I suppose some of those may be wilton as someone's name or something). But it does need cleanup (it's curently an insult). I'm changing it to a proper stub and de-prodding. (But I feel like apologizing for doing the latter, sorry.)RJFJR 00:15, 20 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Attacks or just badly worded?

The population of Wilton was decimated during the 2001 foot and mouth crisis.

That could be an attack saying the people of Wilton are all cows and caught hoof and mouth; or it could mean the loss of live stock caused the people to move away reducing the poplulation.

Although no official records exist, Wilton is widely regarded as the biggest farm yard in Europe.

Could be saying the entire town is nothing more than a big bunch of animals, or it could mean that Wilton contains an area that is the (physically) largest open farm area around.

Glad to restore these if some can confirm I'm not insulting the residents. (No insult intended if I'm just reading things into this because I have a dirty mind.) RJFJR 00:22, 20 March 2006 (UTC)
