[edit] Bruce's Coronation

Lamberton was certainly present at both of Bruce's coronation ceremonies; and while it is a distinct possibility that he crowned him on the first occasion, the contemporary sources do not allow us to say with any certainty that this was so. It is just as likely that it was Robert Wishart, as Lamberton had no precedence in this matter, and the prerogative of crowning was invested by tradition in the house of Macduff: hence the re-crowning a few days later. The St. Andrews website is wrong to make such a definite claim for Lamberton. Rcpaterson 00:10, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
