There are some factual inaccuracies in this article in its current form, although the general contents are consistent with Groener's signficance. For example, Groener did not have a field command in the Ukraine, he was Chief of Staff in the Army Group Eichhorn. Admittedly, this position had important command functions under the Prussian-German system of dual command, where the commander and the chief of staff shared responsibility. Also, Groener did not succeed Hindenburg as Chief of the General Staff; he was Hindenburg's First General Quartermaster, and he resigned this post at the same time that Hindenburg stepped down. On the other hand, his position under Hindenburg gave him effective operational control over the German army. Some of these inaccuracies might stem from Wheeler-Bennett's book. mrs 13:51, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
