Grouse (talk · contribs) added the {{fair use disputed}} tag, but didn't add an explanation here. So I guess I will. I don't think that a free image is reasonably obtainable. Unlike members of the royal family (or other famous people like Jodie Foster), Ms. Middleton doesn't make any public appearances, doesn't walk the red-carpet line at premiers, doesn't do photo calls or press conferences, and in no other way makes herself available for photography. She doesn't have an official photograph or crown-copyright portrait, and she doesn't seem to have a press agent to whom we could reasonably make a request for a GFDL/cc-by-sa/PD photo. She doesn't attend meetings or conferences with famous people or dignitaries, so she'll not be in the photographs arising from those. As a private citizen her whereabouts, home, and movements aren't generally known, and she's protected by a Special Branch detective. When her address did become public, the Evening Standard reported the Metropolitan Police conducted a security review (source). I can't see any reasonable way in which anyone short of a professional paparazzo or a stalker could reasonably obtain a photograph of her, so I believe this is one case where a fair use image is justified. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 02:14, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

  • I concur with this view. This is not an available public figure to take photographs of and we cannot reasonably obtain a photo of her. Unless of course someone would like to be arrested invading her home or some such. Gateman1997 20:53, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
    • Agreed. There are a few people like this where photos would be impossible. If the two do marry, in the future this could easily be replaced as a public image would surely come up then. But until that time, that's not possible. JROBBO 12:02, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
