Wikipedia talk:Wikipedia in Schools

One obstacle in the way of promoting wikipedia in schools might be articles that are not in line with propaganda. Officials annoyed by those articles might pressure teachers. Skorkmaz (talk) 11:33, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Reality of Knowledge
I think Wikipedia should begin to establish itself not as especially invalid, but as a symptom of the internet age. Consider, why is Wikipedia being banned, while unknown and uncontested articles from sources who can distort or ignore the truth, or even outright lie, are allowed into schools? A tighter level of control, a limitation of major edits to only senior wiki admins, and Wikipedia becomes the one thing the internet needs. A neutral source with dedicated men and women working to preserve its validity and who will shoot down any unevidenced positions. Yes, anyone can edit an article, but the Wikimedia foundation's response should then be, that at least on Wikipedia, lies and misrepresentations are deleted. Compared to most anywhere else, where the only one who considers the validity of the material being showcased is usually the person who wrote it.
