[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards
Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 17:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] SFD/R notification
This message is to notify you that a stub template that is associated with this WikiProject ({{Southern Gospel-stub}}) is up for renaming at WP:SFD. Please join the discussion. Thanks. ~ Amalas rawr =^_^= 19:18, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Update: This was renamed to {{US-southern-gospel-stub}} per the SFD discussion and also per the original proposal. ~ Amalas rawr =^_^= 14:52, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Jimmy Swaggart
Hiya, I just added the Southern Gospel template to Jimmy Swaggart. It would be awesome if we could get more informstion on his contributions to Southern Gospel on that page. Artw 17:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Singing News Fan Awards
Hi, Terrill and everyone else. I've set to work on adding the honorees in the Singing News Fan Awards, using a separate page for each category, taking the Grammy Awards as a standard. Daniel J. Mount 00:24, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Attention Gospel music experts
There is currently a discussion regarding the origins of gospel music on the Gospel music article's talk page. We are looking for any individuals with knowledge regarding the development of Gospel music (all forms including urban contemporary, Southern Gospel, traditional, etc.) to join the discussion. The resulting conversation will result in a rewrite of the article. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 14:22, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Proposed WikiProjects merger?
I've noticed that there are several independent WikiProjects related to Christian music all with very small memberships (or at least only a few active participants). I would like to propose to the WikiProject the possible merger of these projects into one WikiProject (probably entitled Christian music WikiProject with task forces for each genre (Contemporary Christian music, Southern Gospel, urban contemporary gospel, etc.). The other option is to make Christian music as a whole a task force under the Christianity Wikiproject. Please share your thoughts on this issue on the discussion page on the Christian music portal. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 19:48, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Update
Looks like we have a consensus from the major project editors. I took information and formats from the four main pages to start the project. It's located at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music. I haven't done categories and Task Force Pages yet because I figured there would be discussion needed. Please feel free to edit what's been done as you all see fit. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 19:17, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Ivan Parker
I just put up a shabby stub for Parker; could use some help from someone who knows this music better than I. Chubbles (talk) 06:57, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
