[edit] Deletion sorting
I would suggest the use of Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Africa for listing items that are nominated for deletion that are in-scope for this workgroup. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 15:02, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template
How about a template for pages on Sierra Leone rather than the Wikiproject tag?--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 21:07, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- Do you mean the wikiproject Africa tag? If so it would make deciding the importance of articles easier as they could just be considered in terms of Sierra Leone rather then the whole of Africa and it would advertise the project as the wikiproject Sierra Leone is hidden by default on the African template. Would it have any affect on the relationship between this project on the WikiProject Africa? --Kaly99 (talk) 21:26, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've created a Sierre Leone template, hopfully it works ok as I've not made one before. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaly99 (talk • contribs) 19:52, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- The only reservations to using it would be that it doesn't do anything that the AfricaProject banner doesn't already do, and in fact doesn't do as much. Also, unfortunately, several articles relative to Sierra Leone will also be important to other nations as well, and there is already a lot of discussion about trying to reduce the number of project banners on talk pages. Also, there are provisions in other banners for allowing for separate importance ratings for the main project and subprojects. I just haven't done that before myself, and am hoping to try it in a week or two with a hopefully less involved banner. If it works there, I'll be incorporating those parameters into the Africa project banner as well. John Carter (talk) 19:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- I've commented out the banner stuff on the page and I'll leave tagging articles for now. A country importance rating on the african banner would sort out the problems of whether to assess the importance relative to Sierra Leone or Africa. The other thing is that the information about the Sierra Leone project is hidden which means the project isn't being advertised very well on the banner. Do you know if it is possible to have a parameter to choose whether to show or hide the informatin about the country wikiprojects? --Kaly99 (talk) 22:24, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposal to consolidate African country WikiProject banners
Template:AfricaProject was recently modified, and now contains individual parameters for all countries in Africa (see usage notes). Since project-specific assessment for all African countries can now be accomplished through the template, a proposal has been made at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Africa to consolidate all individual African country WikiProject banners.
Comments or suggestions would be most welcome. Thank you, Black Falcon (Talk) 23:28, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Photographs of Sierra Leone
I've found a collection of excellent photographs of Sierra Leone on a Government/UN site, there under the library menu and then photographs option, (for example the ones on Health). There's a message at the top that says Please feel free to use any of these photographs in your work. All photos should be credited SLIS. I know we would need a more specific license to use them but I haven't had any experience obtaining permission from external sites and wondered if anyone could offer me some advice on how to approach this. --Kaly99 (talk) 18:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
