[edit] Latin American project

Moved from Wikipedia:Village pump on Saturday, September 13th, 02003.

Hello. I am interrested in Latin America and want to create a new project for Latin America. There, I will put a list of articles to create, articles to expand, articles to translate (from Spanish, French mainly), a list of people who want to help, etc. What do you think about such a project? --Youssefsan 14:46, 5 Sep 2003 (UTC)

I have just started Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America countries. Any critc, idea, comment are welcome. -- Youssef 16:53, 7 Sep 2003 (UTC)

[edit] Still active?

I've moved Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America countries to the Inactive section of the WikiProject page, as it hasn't been edited since Nov 1st; I wanted to let you all know, and ask if you're still working on it. If so, feel free to move it back up into the active section. JesseW 08:02, 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I am unfortunately not very active.--Youssef 18:48, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] WikiReader

What about a Wikipedia:WikiReader on Latin America countries. There are about 20 countries. So with 2-3 pages on each country we can have 50-60 articles. In the long term, we can have 5-10 articles/country that mean a book 100-200 pages. Someone interrested in the project ?--Youssef 18:48, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Sounds like a cool idea. I'll definitely help out if you want to start it up. It looks pretty simple – we would just essentially have to copy the country articles over, though some of them probably need some serious work. But I don't mind learning about little Latin American countries. Also, we could do them on specific countries in the future, especially the ones with lots of articles (like Mexico, once I get the Culture of Mexico article in better shape). --Spangineer 03:51, Jan 31, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Improvement Drive

South America is currently nominated to be improved on Wikipedia:This week's improvement drive. You can support the article with your vote.--Fenice 12:14, 17 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Latin America Portal

I created the Latin America Portal. I am seeking help with its maintenance. And, it still needs more work. Feel free to help out. --JuanMuslim 1m 04:38, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

I am now maintaining the portal. It is featured, and could use someone else to help with the news and Did You Know's, as I have less time these days than I used to. All welcome. --Estrellador* 19:58, 7 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikiproject Wikiproject LOC Country Studies

I have started a Wikipedia:WikiProject Library of Congress Country Studies, Wikiproject that involves taking the public domain LOC Country Studies and incorporating them into Wikipedia. Go to the Colombia subpage to participate or observe progress on the Colombia section. Many other Latin American countries are involved in this project.--Bkwillwm 19:56, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Asia District, Peru

Our article on this locality is nominated for Articles for Deletion on 30 January 2006. It would be good if people with some knowledge of Peru could give their advice. Capitalistroadster 03:11, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team cooperation

Hello. I'm a member of the Version 1.0 Editorial Team, which is looking to identify quality articles in Wikipedia for future publication on CD or paper. We recently began assessing articles using these criteria, and we are are asking for your help. As you are most aware of the issues surrounding your focus area, we are wondering if you could provide us with a list of the articles that fall within the scope of your WikiProject, and that are either featured, A-class, B-class, or Good articles, with no POV or copyright problems. Do you have any recommendations? If you do, please post your suggestions at the listing of all active Places WikiProjects, and if you have any questions, ask me in the Work Via WikiProjects talk page or directly in my talk page. Thanks a lot! Titoxd(?!? - help us) 18:34, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Project directory

Hello. The WikiProject Council has recently updated the Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. This new directory includes a variety of categories and subcategories which will, with luck, potentially draw new members to the projects who are interested in those specific subjects. Please review the directory and make any changes to the entries for your project that you see fit. There is also a directory of portals, at User:B2T2/Portal, listing all the existing portals. Feel free to add any of them to the portals or comments section of your entries in the directory. The three columns regarding assessment, peer review, and collaboration are included in the directory for both the use of the projects themselves and for that of others. Having such departments will allow a project to more quickly and easily identify its most important articles and its articles in greatest need of improvement. If you have not already done so, please consider whether your project would benefit from having departments which deal in these matters. It is my hope that all the changes to the directory can be finished by the first of next month. Please feel free to make any changes you see fit to the entries for your project before then. If you should have any questions regarding this matter, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you. B2T2 15:33, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Article in need of cleanup

I'm not sure if this is your department (I posted this on the Islam project page too) but Islam in Suriname could probably use cleanup, categorization, etc by somebody who's a bit knowledgeable. Thought I'd let y'all know. Fightindaman 01:02, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia Day Awards

Hello, all. It was initially my hope to try to have this done as part of Esperanza's proposal for an appreciation week to end on Wikipedia Day, January 15. However, several people have once again proposed the entirety of Esperanza for deletion, so that might not work. It was the intention of the Appreciation Week proposal to set aside a given time when the various individuals who have made significant, valuable contributions to the encyclopedia would be recognized and honored. I believe that, with some effort, this could still be done. My proposal is to, with luck, try to organize the various WikiProjects and other entities of wikipedia to take part in a larger celebrartion of its contributors to take place in January, probably beginning January 15, 2007. I have created yet another new subpage for myself (a weakness of mine, I'm afraid) at User talk:Badbilltucker/Appreciation Week where I would greatly appreciate any indications from the members of this project as to whether and how they might be willing and/or able to assist in recognizing the contributions of our editors. Thank you for your attention. Badbilltucker 20:04, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bilateral relations discussion

I would like to invite you all to participate in a discussion at this thread regarding bilateral relations between two countries. All articles related to foreign relations between countries are now under the scope of WikiProject Foreign relations, a newly created project. We hope that the discussion will result in a more clean and organized way of explaining such relationships. Thank you. Ed ¿Cómo estás? 17:58, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Guinea pig

Hi, this article just passed GA status and in the interest of making it as comprehensive as possible, I was wondering if anyone from this WikiProject might want to give it a lookover and see how its coverage of the animal as a facet of Andean culture rates. Thanks! Chubbles 20:19, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
