[edit] Proposed merger
It has been suggested that this project merge with Wikipedia:WikiProject Holidays. For the purposes of centralized discussion, please see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Holidays#Proposed Festivals merger. Thank you. John Carter 01:30, 7 May 2007 (UTC)
- I really don't mind if it introduces more people and helps spread the knowlage of the growing number of festival articles; then im all for it!! Maverick423 Says Im in ur science steeling ur gravities 07:00, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
- Mild oppose. Festivals don't necessarily, or even usually, take place during holidays, and many holidays don't have associated festivals. Derek Balsam(talk) 19:30, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - festivals such as WOMAD, Film festivals, etc have no clear relationship with holidays Paul foord (talk) 10:36, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Template: Infobox Festival?
I'd like to propose the creation of a Template:Infobox Festival containing such information as:
- Name
- Representative image which meets fair-use criteria
- Location
- Frequency
- Date(s)
- Years of existence
- Latest number of participants
- Type, one of:
- Local
- State, provincial, or regional
- National
- Historical
I'd be willing to work on creating this. Any interest? Any suggestions on what else should be included?Derek Balsam(talk) 19:38, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've created a mockup Infobox proposal for Festivals on my user page. It can be found here. Thanks! Derek Balsam(talk) 20:07, 28 May 2007 (UTC)
