The first available English CD version of Wikipedia-CD is the 2006 Wikipedia CD Selection. It totals three million words and 8000 images (see CD Project page), which is equivalent to a book with 4000 to 5000 pages of material. This download is intended to be "safe" for children, but some articles are nonetheless complicated. The BitTorrent download is here.
A 2007 CD Selection has also been released. It contains 4625 articles, and contains enhancements such as improved image copyright attribution as well as the Wikipedia logo. All child-friendly content from the Version 0.5 project is included in the CD. More details are available on the SOS Childrens Villages website.
