Wikiviolence is surprisingly easy to avoid. Here is a list of guidelines:
1. Be respectful to other editors.
2. Assume good faith. This is one of the basic editing rules of Wikipedia.
3. Do not accuse editors of vandalism until you have proof of vandalism they have committed.
4. Do not get into edit wars. Instead, talk respectfully to other users who you are having trouble with. This will most likely result in the a peaceful agreement.
5. If you get into an edit war, try to get out of it without offending anybody. Simply express your opinion, and let the other editor express his. You may also get input from other editors.
