Welcome to the Kingdom of Naples WikiProject. We are a group dedicated to improving Wikipedia's coverage of articles related to the Kingdom of Naples, a European country which existed from 1285 until 1816. Also covered by the project is the Kingdom of Two Sicilies; which existed from 1816 until 1861, this was a merger of the Kingdom of Naples and Sicily.
This page and its subpages contain their suggestions and various resources; it is hoped that this project will help to focus the efforts of other Wikipedians interested in the topic. If you would like to help, please join the project, inquire on the talk page and see the to-do list below.
- Goals
- The goal of this WikiProject is to provide complete coverage on subjects related to the Kingdom of Naples and Two Sicilies, by expanding articles on people, places, and things resident or native to the Kingdom of Naples and Two Sicilies.
- Scope
- This project proposes to work with all pages related to the Kingdom of Naples, its history, geography, and people. Additionally it covers the island of Sicily as part of the Two Sicilies but only for the time period of 1816 to 1861, we acknowledge the efforts and work of other projects such as WikiProject Sicily which covers Sicily throughout all of its general history. This project is in the scope of WikiProject Former countries.

[edit] Provinces of the Kingdom
The historical provinces of the kingdom which don't already have articles need to have them created: Capitanata, Principato Ultra, Principato Citeriore, Terra di Bari, Terra d'Otranto, Calabria Citeriore and Calabria Ultra. Some already have pre-existing articles on Wikipedia which can be used such as Terra di Lavoro, Abruzzo, Molise and Basilicata. It would be preferable to create a Provinces of the Kingdom of Naples article to have a general overview and to include a map, created from looking at sources.[1][2]

Here are some of the pre-Kingdom of Naples and Two Sicilies entities which fall within the general area that the kingdom would take shape, these entities can be covered by this project; many need improval some need creation all together, here is a list of them; Kingdom of Sicily, Principality of Capua, Principality of Benevento, Duchy of Amalfi, Principality of Salerno, Duchy of Naples, Duchy of Apulia and Calabria, Duchy of Spoleto, County of Sicily and Emirate of Sicily.
