[edit] Goals
The goal of WikiProject Investment is to improve the usability of investment articles for investors while still adhering to encyclopedic standards. Currently investment articles suffer from neglect, and a lack of standards. Ultimately this project is dedicated to democratizing knowledge of the marketplace and giving the small-time investor the background needed to make his/her own decisions.
[edit] Scope
Investment fundamentals, financial instruments, investment strategies, asset classes, theory of options and derivatives, mathematical finance, and relevant aspects of advanced microeconomic theory. Qualified topics are geared towards the personal investor. Topics that are primarily relevant to institutions should instead be directed by another project such as WP:FINANCE.
[edit] Guidelines
Investment is a topic with countless ideas: the marketplace of ideas is the very heart of capitalism! One of the critical challenges these articles face is giving salient examples of firms, funds, strategies or investment resources while maintaining NPOV and Notability.

- Greg Comlish (talk · contribs) Hi. I'm hoping to improve the quality of investment articles for the small-time personal investor. 16:37, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
- Zain Ebrahim111 (talk · contribs) I think it's a good idea to have WP provide investment information to potential (and possibly lay) investors. I'll linger about the to-do list tasks and make any fixups I deem necessary.
- Hroðulf (talk · contribs) Interesting project. I have tagged a few articles as project articles, and expanded a few, particularly in the area of collective investments. I would like Dividend to become a Good Article. --13:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- John M Baker (talk · contribs) Will try to help out from time to time, particularly on collective investments in the U.S. 23:44, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Antandrus (talk · contribs) I have some knowledge in specific areas (for example I wrote our articles on the U.S. and Canadian royalty trusts -- PBT, HTE, PWE, etc.) I've also been around for a few years so feel free to ask for general advice on anything. Interesting and potentially excellent project! Antandrus (talk) 14:08, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
