[edit] Highly decorated players in recent times

ESPN list was done in 2001, so players in the last decade may be omitted. ACHoF only selects "old" players so to speak. So added a list of notable people, long career in last decade. As well as a few notorious ones

[edit] John Woodcock's Hundred Greatest of All Time

A list produced by the distinguished cricket writer John Woodcock in 1997. Though rather weighted towards English players, it has the advantage of covering the whole history of the game. Those already listed above are not included, reducing the list from 100 to 45.

Name Class Comments/Reasoning
Alfred Mynn Start lacks infobox
Denis Compton Start+ shortage of references, otherwise not bad
Frank Woolley Start shortage of references
Alec Bedser B short on references, otherwise good
Ted Dexter Start+ playing career portion needs extending
Arthur Shrewsbury B a good beginning
Peter May Start+
K S Ranjitsinhji B short on references, otherwise good
William Beldham Start lots of info, but needs structuring; no citations, referencing is a default list
George Lohmann B with more references might make GA
George Hirst B a fine article, but it is short of citations
Hugh Tayfield Start+ pretty good but on the short side and lacking in citations
Tom Richardson B pretty good, though short of citations and occasionally verging on hagiography
Colin Cowdrey Start+ quite long, but even so could be expanded, and lacking in citations
Rohan Kanhai Start good quality but far too short
Graham Gooch B needs sectioning and, though substantial, should be further expanded
C. B. Fry Start good overall, but the cricket section needs major expansion
Ken Barrington Start needs expansion and citations
John Small Start+ needs expansion and structuring; does now have citations
Geoff Boycott B with more citations would have a shot at GA
Allan Steel Start But for the infobox, I'd have rated it as a stub. Needs major expansion.
Godfrey Evans Stub has an infobox, but not much beyond that
Learie Constantine Start+ good on his life as a whole, but the cricket part is rather brief, and it lacks references
Clive Lloyd Start+ substantial piece, but lacking in structure and wholly without references
David Gower Start+ substantial piece, but lacking in structure and short on references
Charles Turner B the B may be a little generous, as it lacks structure and is short on references
Archie MacLaren Stub a good beginning but needs major expansion
Gilbert Jessop Start needs structuring and more citations
Alfred Shaw Start needs structuring and more citations
Brian Statham Start+ needs citations to support statements that - though probably true - currently appear as POV. Otherwise pretty good - substantial and well structured.
Vintcent van der Bijl Start needs expansion
Fazal Mahmood Start needs expansion
Hanif Mohammad Start needs expansion
Stanley Jackson Stub+ close to "Start" but needs considerable expansion
Bob Willis Start+ substantial article, but needs structuring and more citations

Lance Gibbs Start substantial, but lacking in references and structure
Wes Hall Start substantial, but lacking in references and structure
Vinoo Mankad Start lacks references and needs some expansion
Harold Larwood Start lacks references and needs some expansion
Jack Gregory Start lacks references and needs expansion
