[edit] Scope

I, TydeNet, hereby wish to implement a WikiProject on Climate, with the main objective being the creation of a "Climate" infobox to place on specific city pages, etc. Despite the huge detail embodied in Wikiproject Cities, this very important element was found lacking.

Ideally, I'd like a sort of table that also converts numerical data into a graph to be displayed above the table. Unfortunately, I think this is above my level of programming prowess, thus the need for a Project. I'd like everyone's help here!

The WikiProject Council logo WikiProject Council would like to inform all Wikipedians that it may be advantageous to:
  • Join WikiProjects of your field of knowledge or interest. This will provide you with a forum in which exchange opinions and identify common goals with respect to articles under that topic, as well as coordinated opportunities to share your knowledge.
You may also join Maintenance WikiProjects where the focus is on the organization and functioning of Wikipedia in general.
  • Beware of overloading yourself with WikiProject memberships. Keep involved in a handful of WikiProjects to which you can actively and assiduously contribute. But always be willing to help any WikiProject when you see an opportunity, regardless of membership.

[edit] Project details

The basic essence of the project is to first of all implement a basic Climate Table, and then build on it from there. My creation of said Climate table (at this point have not started the table per se) can be found here: Template:Climate Table.

Future programming of said infobox (eg to transpose data into a graph) should be postponed until the basic Climate table is off the ground.
