Welcome to the Evangelion Work Group!

Goals
  • Improve Wikipedia's coverage of all Evangelion related articles, set in the 4 major continuities: the original Neon Genesis Evangelion anime series (including the alternate ending The End of Evangelion movie), the manga adaptation series, the Rebuild of Evangelion, and the potential live action movie series.
Scope
  • The project covers all articles about Evangelion; main article, character articles, episode articles and all related lists, etc.

  • Update and refine all information relating to the new "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series.
    • The issue of whether to treat the new "Rebuild of Evangelions" movies as a separate continuity, or as an actual sequel to the original series, has been tabled: we will wait and see what happens in the remaining Rebuild films as Hideaki Anno said they're all supposed to be viewed as one big project; thus we will maintain the status quo of considering Rebuild a separate continuity until more information is available in subsequent Rebuild installments. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 00:07, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
      • I agree; Rebuild is IMO another continuity just like the manga - different facets of the same overall story. Willbyr (talk | contribs) 21:14, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
        • Rumor/theory has it that later Rebuild films will have Anno reveal that they're set in the far future of the original series. Set in the far future? Man, that's bizarre - I can't even figure how that would work. Would all the characters just coincidentally be reborn in the right order or something? --Gwern (contribs) 20:25 8 May 2008 (GMT)
Essentially, yup. A current analogy would be the "all this has happened before, and all this will happen again" motif in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica TV series; on BSG they quite literally say that time is moving in a circle and, while the characters and their roles are shuffled around, essentially time is moving cyclically. --Vi Veri Veniversum Vivus Vici (talk) 20:29, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

    • General cleanup and such
  • Images
    • All images used for Evangelion related articles MUST have adequate fair use rationales added to their description page.
    • All images used MUST be captioned (complies with fair use)
    • All images and fair use rationales MUST comply with Wikipedia:Non-free content criteria
    • Add needed images
  • Develop and maintain a standardized set of rules and guidelines for Neon Genesis Evangelion articles (such as the "independent research" cleanup currently needed on "Angel (Neon Genesis Evangelion)"
  • Use Wikipedia:Television episodes to develop the episode articles.
  • Build the Evangelion Portal
  • Create a userbox for the Work Group and (eventually) the Portal
  • Update information on "Rebuild of Evangelion" and the Live-action Eva Movie series as news becomes available.
  • The Drive to "Good Article" status: we need to get *all* of the Evangelion related articles up to Good Article status. This means fixing them all to be in accordance with Wikipedia's rules and regulation (i.e. removing Analysis and such).
