[edit] Sorta new here, what gives?

Hola and, as above, welcome! I appreciate that the intent wasn't to make an advert - I'm downright glad, in fact. It's always hard to gauge intention with these things, and sadly the trend goes way in the other direction: nine out of ten articles called "FooBar Incorporated" that are created by an account named "foobarinc" seem to be the work of a single-minded PR or marketing person, creating the article on the company's behalf with the express intent of getting some free advertising. So I hope I didn't come across as too harsh with my edits to the Century Bank article you started.

The whole "business model" section seemed more like content for advertising than an encyclopedia article to me, although if you have some good reasons for putting it back in, then by all means, be bold and do so! The template you said you used, that of the Commerce Bancorp article, itself seems to have some advert-esque language in there, and might not necessarily be the ideal for what an article should strive to be. My own philosophy (and Wikipedia's, really) is that the article should contain factual, verifiable and notable information. Content that doesn't satisfy all three is probably better to just have on the bank's own website. I felt that the business model content wasn't really notable - it just gave the same bullet-point information one would find in a promotional brochure.

Finally (sorry for all the typing here!), if the name of the bank is in fact Century BANK, then the article should be moved from Century Bank to Century BANK to reflect that. In short, the name in the article should be consistent with the name in the title. Hopefully all of this helped to clear up my reasoning. If it didn't, or if you have any other thoughts, you know where to reach me. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 02:52, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
