Can a dev give this the bot flag? Its edits are frequent enough to make it hard to follow recent changes. Thanks. --Pakaran 05:12, 7 Dec 2003 (UTC)

It would be good if the operator of the bot would be written on the page, so people know where they can react. I know Rob's software quite well, so I'd be willing to answer things that have to do with that as well. Andre Engels 11:22, 7 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Is Wikibot automated ? or someone decides which articles the bot has to work on everyday ? is the bot taking care of standardizing interwiki links for ALL articles in wikipedia ? Jay 16:07, 9 Dec 2003 (UTC)

[edit] A request for assistance

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 02:50 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Automated message to bot owners

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 05:16, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
