An equation I came up with for dividing by 9:

d = all digits of x except for the last digit	f = first digit	s = second digit	t = third digit

Rule	Equation	Example
If x is less than 100:	$D + (1 / 9)(d + s)$	x=54 [ $5 + (1 / 9)(5 + 4)$ ] = 6
If x is greater than 100 but less than 1000	$D + (1 / 9)(f + s + t) + f$	x=748 [ $76 + (1 / 9)(7 + 4 + 8) + 7$ ] = 83.1...
